Beth Boynton has created an easy to read tool that can be applied in all healthcare areas, not just nursing. She addresses the very complicated topic of communication in healthcare with useful methods for change & improvement in a very simple format to read. I just used her book to create a presentation & forum for my anesthesia students & the feedback was wonderful. We all acknowledged that improved communication must begin in our educational process & additionally by a refusal to tolerate behaviors that encourage the current "cast system" in healthcare. Beth is on the cutting edge of change in a business that has been far, far behind other workplaces in treating everyone with fairness & respect, regardless of their "place" in this archaic hierarchy that allows, even encourages those with the most education & experience to disrespect those with less. I applaud her efforts & look forward to the change she promotes in this book!
